A FORCE of 1 Equal to a Host of Hoplites Harries Hollowed Ground; Or, How Sir Pooh de Bear managed to stumble off the Boat to a Green and Blue Heaven
There was much time betwixt Small Corn and the rest of
Not a memory of Desert heats
or broken dreams. It is not dealing with freedom given to captured prisoners or the most twisted of videos that recorded their children's death. No, though many a unfortunate Marine might relate these stories to you mine is a tale of luxury, excess, dallied away time, and peaceful days where the greatest strain was of my own foolish far out swimming and the trouble I had rousing myself to actually go out and swim.
You see I won the Fight and the WAR.
Others were slain, men died even as I swung my thinning bulk in
my hammock. And even as I chatted idly with some German and Swiss Lasses another man struggled to make back of the mouth Hckkkkkkk sounds negotiating with some local Iraq elder. But that was removed from me. I'd won and no harm that might tear another Marine's body to ribbons could come under my foot. I won. I'm not a L000zer. And, my brave friends, my unschooled unimpressive sk00led chums of yore carried out the plan of the day.
I guess I miss it, I was thinking about all the death while I was sunning... It a sad thing and strange that others should die by the willful cruelty and vehemence of another man while I in turn rested protected by space and oceans. Rigtht ahh soo I came to Mine Isle- for verily any Isle and land upon is MINE BY DIVINE RIGHT OF KINGS! THE SWORD! EXCALIBUR I NEED THE SWORD TO BE KING! Errr ahh yeah sorry my favorite lines in Excalibur for Uther. Anyhow, I was on Little Corn Island.
Truth is I came with Santa Claus- well I left on the Saint Nicholas Ferry:
I liked it so much I decided to jump from the third deck, having seen two boys jump from the second deck in the middle of the ship. So I assumed it would be completely safe to throw myself off the third deck at the far end of the ship. And it was. The water was a deep pure green and the abundance of lobster, shrimp, and conches witnessed the purity of it.
And this guy did not seem to mind a Loon was taking flight off the ferry- but then there would be no chance for me to do srupid Law suits like in the Idiot Judge American Courts where you get money for smoking and spilling coffee on yourself...
Not much of an industrial revolution going on the East Coast of Nicaragua or the Corn Islands. You must jump in while it is pure of prorgress.
The main "town" area itself had contemplative fishermen...
Mmm a local Merchant I think ... can't remember hugs all around anyhow when Pooh comes to town......and friendly young lasses - perhaps the next Halle Berry in ten years?
I have a bit of coffee and a tad extra for the view at the Dolphin...
Hugs for everyone...
Of Course I was friendly with the waitress at the Dolphin- Taking silly hug pictures with them is fun for all...
Of Course I stopped to get yet another picture with another happy waitress:
these are some town tacos...
Some girls with the fisher boys behind them...
the fisher boys:
I don't know what they caught...
Here is a German Lass who left Elsie's Resort right after I arrived- ahh well
This is me Eating some delicious ocean fish Cooked by a Canadian named ahhh Jack? He was a supreme cook of Elsie's:
So the first resort I was was named Elsie's I think...
A wealth of Shells was piled on the sands of this resort:
Far from the shore was a sunken ship I swam to maybe a mile out can you see it?
Cute kids were abound...
And yet the sandy ground and nearby neighbor who seemed to be trying to imatate a Southern Fella detracted from the setting...
Child Labor ahhh it's good for responsibility...
Here we have the cute kids resting from their labor:
Later I left Else's after two days for a grass covered paradise Derek's place Little Corn -The same helpful German or was it Austrian and Swiss guys also shared my company at Dereck's
And tese were also their friends who went on the Ferry with me
I saw this while walking around the island; a ardruious taskwhichh takes around an hour. It was the bomb. I feel badbecausee when I left I broke a stair going downbecausee I was carrying my loaded pack and wearing my boots... ahh well Sorry Derek and Anna...
In is true that I found a cherub In Dereks Place a small blond angel her Brother was a happy little fellow also- but she was by far more given to flights of fancy, I pray Heaven never lets her hit the deck too hard- she is a bit to brave for her own good she could be a great Free Runner Athlete...
She even brought out her old Piratecutlasss and gave me a sword Salute when I left...
I'd take a 3 round 5.56 burst in the gut for this small one every time... Christ save her. Happily I think Small Corn is a safe place for children - I got to go to Iraq to do that...
Here is another cute little punk who stopped by- he was right out of a cartoon as his pants kept falling down - and I don't mean it in a mean taunting way ... it was more like when you see the old 30s and forties movies with the little boy whose pants keep slipping - anyhow it was hilarious - but I was careful not to laugh at him...
Hey It's me and Portly the Otter! Who is more silly?
There was also a very kind German lass who I later went swimming with she and her friend were strong swimmers and eager as me to see the sharks and eagle rays we viewed
This is the only 'road' to 'town'
Walking on the Jungle Path I heard the constant noise of something finally I realized it was numberless crabs that lived next to the beach and became active at night
A brief look off the path:
Heres me...
Sans Me...
Nothing is more macho than barefoot basketball...
Did I play with them? Of course not I'm on vacation- and besides if I came down from a rebound on their toes I'd crush them. But they did have a good time aye?
Oh and let us not forget the small fry happy punks and punkys of little corn-
-these East Side of the Ocean peoples are good at English but I like speaking the Language of El Cid to them as my Knight Errant Adventures and Battles would leave even The Cid Speechless...Some happy kids living in the big town errr well the biggest town on the island that is the only town on the island...
And here we perhaps two of the cutest pirate girls I've ever encountered- For as everyone knows The Corn Islands were the Pirates refuge for years- protected by the reefs that showed me their ship wrecks while trying to cut me too on their corrals in the dash of waves. Lucky for me I escaped unscathed, I can only hope these punkys grow up as sweet as they were then- at least they have plenty of lobster, avocados, and fish to eat.
Hey look it's Pirate girls!
